Resources for Collective Healing

The concepts of collective healing and collective care are more relevant than ever as we navigate life in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic. For many, the pandemic showcased how our community is a global one with the actions and decisions of others causing impacts in our own lives.

In contrast to the individualistic “every man for himself” mentality that capitalism and white supremacy promote in our culture, which pits people against one another, promotes fear-based ideals around scarcity of resources and claims that our lived experiences occur entirely separately from other people’s, the yogic model of health is based in the ancient understanding that we are all part of a shared, interconnected experience. Within this understanding, it is known that our actions impact those around us, that we all benefit when others have what they need to succeed, and that when healing occurs for others, it helps to create a healthier environment for us all.

When it comes to the concept of wellbeing, a collective care model calls for more accessible healthcare systems and services, equity and resources for systemically disenfranchised communities, and greater support for one another.

In my work as a C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, I aim to support this collective healing and collective liberation. To that end, I would like to provide a collection here of some of the healing resources I have encountered in my work that may be supportive for you. You can also contact me with questions, for support or to book a free therapeutic consultation at any time!

Sending love and healing to you all,

Katie
